We offer same day appointments with extended hours and weekends.  Should you need transportation we will provide that as well.

After you make your appointment, please try to arrive at the center about 15 minutes prior to your scan to complete paper work.  The actual test itself lasts from 45 minutes to an hour.

You will meet with the technologist who will do the scan and answer any questions that you may have.   A coil or plastic device may be placed over the body part to be examined to enhance the images.  Your doctor may have chosen to have dye injected to further enhance the images.  

You will here some noise and "popping" sounds, this is completely normal.  Please relax and lie as still as possible during the scan to make the images as clear as possible.  Family members or friends may accompany you into the examination room.

Some things you can do to make your scan as comfortable as possible:

• Continue taking any medications including pain medication prescribed by your physician.
  
• Although fasting is not recommended, try to cut-back on your liquid consumption prior to the exam, so that you are comfortable during the scan.
  
• You DO need to remove all
  jewelry, watches, and anything metal as the magnet will attract these items.
